  • Web Graphic Designer; Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) via Brooksource Staffing; Indianapolis, IN; September to December 2008

Taught courses in web design (HTML, slicing, Cascading Style Sheets, basic animation), 2-dimensional design and color theory, digital- imaging and photography, drawing, vector illustration, and typography.

  • Technical Work
    • Departmental Macintosh guru and platform advocate - I was the only faculty member who switched my main desktop system to Macintosh and upon my arrival at the school in 2001 one of my top priorities was to add a Macintosh-based teaching lab for the Graphic Design curriculum
    • Spring 2005 re-designed the departmental website from a framed site to a design using HTML and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
    • Researched appropriate software and hardware needs for the program and provided this information to the Computer Technology Services (CTS) director for procurement
    • Coordinated with and assisted the desktop administrators in lab hardware and software configurations, and trouble-shooting
    • Assisted program faculty and students to solve hardware, software and related technical issues, and directed them to CTS when necessary
  • Administrative Work
    • Supervised and mentored departmental faculty in curriculum and professional development
    • Organized and directed departmental adjunct faculty in curriculum delivery
    • Oversaw and guided part-time computer lab assistants and work-study students in lab maintenance and provided assistance to program students and faculty
    • Identified annual departmental budgetary needs and wrote necessary requisitions
    • Planned course content and descriptions, revised degrees and their requirements and planned for new degrees and their requirements as a member of the college state-wide curriculum committee
    • Developed dual-credit agreements with area high schools to allow college credit for specific high school courses
    • Arranged and gave presentations on the program's degree concentrations during Campus
    • Preview Day, Technology Day and on visits to area high schools
